Six outstanding high school seniors have been chosen to receive a $1,000 AWC Center for Quality Communities scholarship from donations received from city and community members during AWC’s Quality Communities Luncheon last year.
Special thanks go out to the CQC Scholarship Committee chaired by AWC Past President and Buckley Mayor Pat Johnson, Ty Stober, Vancouver Councilmember, Kyle Dixon, Palouse City Administrator and Michelle Gaines, Winthrop Clerk-Treasurer.
The winners are:
Colt Corrigan – Chelan
Silvia Esparza – Quincy
Sargun Handa – Mukilteo
Chanelle Hunt – Cusick
Gabriela Ruiz Heras – Vancouver
Katrina Wagner – Enumclaw
In addition, two $1,000 AWC Center for Quality Communities scholarships were awarded to previous scholarship winners who are continuing their education and their commitment to community service.

Thank you to the cities who donated to the Center and the 49 cities who participated. These outstanding young leaders were recognized at the AWC Center for Quality Communities luncheon held on Thursday of AWC’s Annual Conference, in June in Spokane.
